Saturday 19th September we will honor the music teacher, musician and composer Charles Ross who has inspired young musicians in East Iceland for almost 30 years. He celebrated his 50 years anniversary earlier this year and Gunnar Gunnarsson Institute and the Music Center of East Iceland along with other good "friends" have managed events concerning that. The concert at Skriðuklaustur is a part of that program which will end in Eskifjörður by another concert on 13th October. The program is sponsored by the East Iceland developement fund.
On Saturday at 16:00 the Kammer-group Stelkur will play selected works by Charles Ross. Free admission and all are welcome to listen and can also look at Charles's installation, "dogger", in gallery Klaustur.
The sheep gathering of Melarétt has been postponed to Sunday 20th September and will start by noon. Due to that opening hours at Skriðuklaustur on Sunday will be short, from 15:00 till 17:00. But other days we are open 12:00 - 17:00.
