borgfjordbandThe Icelandic band Borgfjörð will play at Skriduklaustur next Tuesday evening 21st July. The concert starts at 20:00. Klausturkaffi restaurant will open until the concert starts.

Borgjförð was created by six friends in spring 2014. The band does covers of their favorite artists and writes their own material. Their first songs came out in the winter 2015 and you can listen to them on their page: www.soundcloud.com/borgfjord

There is no entrance fee to the concert, but the band happily accepts donations.

arnarogashleyThere will be concert at Skriðuklaustur cultural centre next Friday night. Ashley Mirando and Arnar Þór Guttormsson will play guitar and sing Western music and classical rock along with their own tunes. The concert is a part of the Outta Sight tour around Iceland. It will start at 20:00 and the admission is 1000 ISK but free for younger then 16. The Klausturkaffi restaurant will be open until the concert starts.

sigga2015-3miniA new exhibition will be opened in our gallery Klaustur on Wednesday 1st July at 17:00. It is the exhibition of drawings and video made by Sigga Bjorg. The name of the exhibition is Nocturniues has stopped writing poems.

steinunnkrTo celebrate that on 19th June there are 100 years since women in Iceland got their right to vote we will have free entrance for women 19th -21st June. We are also celebrating 15 years anniversary of the cultural center. And on Sunday Steinunn Kristjánsdóttir archeaologist, who managed the research on Skriduklaustur cloister, will present her newest projects concerning other medieval monasteries in Iceland. Her presentation starts at 13.30 and then she will guide visitors by the ruins of the cloister from 15.00-17.00.
