nyjarbaekur2016Bjartur Pulishing house has launched two new editions of Gunnar Gunnarsson's works. In Icelandic Saga Borgarættarinnar (Guest the one eyed) is now published for the first time as paperback. It is the book that opened the door for Gunnarsson to the world of literature, his first novel. In English Bjartur has printed the famous edition of The Good Shepherd that was published in USA in 1940 and sent out as gift book in Book of the Month Club.

Both these works are classics and should be welcomed by the summer readers, both Icelandic and foreign. Of course they can be bought at Skriduklaustur.

A vague joy filled him as he
looked; he felt that his soul
was come of the race of
those great mountains,
as a line of kings.
